Drug Name BuSpar (Buspirone)

How to use

- Antifungal agents (eg, ketoconazole), diltiazem, HIV protease inhibitors (eg ritonavir), macrolides and ketolides (eg, erythromycin, azithromycin), nefazodone, or because they "may increase the risk of side effects of verapamil BuSpar
- Carbamazepine, dexamethasone, phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampin, or because they "may reduce the effectiveness of BuSpar
- Sodium oxybate (GHB) because its side effects may be at increased risk of BuSpar
Do not use BuSpar if:
- You are allergic to BuSpar Component
- You have severe liver or kidney problems
- You furazolidone, sodium oxybate (GHB), or monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (eg, phenelzine), or you if you have taken MAOIs within last 14 days
Contact your doctor or health care provider immediately if any of these apply to you. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding
- If you have any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal or dietary supplement you are taking
- If you have medicine, food, or are allergic to other substances
- If you have a history of alcohol or drug abuse, or liver or kidney problems
- If you have had suicidal thoughts or actions
