Caduet (amlodipine and atorvastatin)

Includes a combination of amlodipine and atorvastatin Caduet.

Caduet for other purposes not listed here can be used.

Caduet for adults and children who are at least 10 years old and used. Atorvastatin is an HMG CoA reductase inhibitor or statin.

Caduet for high blood pressure (hypertension) pressure or chest pain (angina), stroke, and treated, the risk of heart attack and the second diabetes, heart disease, or those with other risk factors for other cardiovascular complications. Bad (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood decreases, the level of good cholesterol (HDL) increases.

Caduet for a short time you stop you may need:

• Uncontrolled seizures;
• Electrolyte imbalance (such as high or low potassium levels in the blood);
• In particular, low blood pressure;
• Serious infection or disease, or
• Surgery or emergency situations. Your diet, medication and exercise routines very closely monitored. Store at room temperature in a dry and cool place. Sometimes the doctor will change your dose to make sure that you get the best result.
  
  You're a long-term treatment of high cholesterol levels may need to take Caduet.
  
  Do not break the pill Caduet.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. Amlodipine, blood vessels dilate, improving blood flow and heart pumps easier.

Missed dose Do not take a double dose. Skip the missed dose when the next dose is less than 12 hours away. Missed dose as soon as you remember.

Store at room temperature in a dry and cool place.

You do not use Caduet if you are allergic to amlodipine (Norvasc) or atorvastatin (Lipitor) is, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have liver disease, it should be. Effective use of contraception to avoid pregnancy, when you take Caduet. Breast-feeding while you are taking Caduet is not. Some other medicines may increase the risk of serious muscle problems, and it is very important that your doctor knows if you're using one of these:

• cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune);
• (Lopid), gemfibrozil, fenofibric acid (Fibricor, Trilipix) or fenofibrate (Antara, Fenoglide, Lipofen, Lofibra, Tricor, Triglide);
• (Biaxin), clarithromycin or erythromycin (EES, EryPed, tele-Tab, Erythrocin), such as antibiotics;
• (Diflucan), fluconazole, itraconazole (Sporanox) or ketoconazole (Extina, Ketozole, Nizoral, Xolegal) when the anti-drugs;
• (Norvir), ritonavir, ritonavir, lopinavir / (Kaletra), saquinavir (Invirase), and other HIV drugs, or
• Medications included niacin (Advicor, Niaspan, Niacor, Simcor, SLO-Niacin, and others). Amlodipine and atorvastatin are excreted in breast milk and may harm a nursing baby.
  
  If you have any other of those conditions, your doctor may decide that, Caduet dose or special tests you may need to adjust:
  • History of liver disease;
  • History of kidney disease;
  • Heart disease;
  • Diabetes;
  • Thyroid disorder, or
  • If you drink more than two alcoholic drinks each day. Stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant.
