Drug UsesCelexa treats depression. Also can be used for other conditions as prescribed by your doctor.

Warnings/PrecautionsTalk to your healthcare provider if you are taking other medicines, especially any of the following:
- Fenfluramine (eg, dexfenfluramine) derivatives, linezolid, lithium, (eg, phenelzine), MAOIs, metoclopramide, nefazodone, selegiline, serotonin 5-HT1 receptor agonists (eg, sumatriptan), sibutramine, St. John's wort or trazodone because severe side reactions such as fever, muscle stiffness, blood pressure changes, mental changes, confusion, irritability, restlessness, delirium, and coma may contain, may be
- (Eg warfarin), anticoagulants, aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen,) because the risk of bleeding, including stomach bleeding, may extend

- You astemizole, pimozide, dexfenfluramine, fenfluramine, phenothiazines (eg, thioridazine), sibutramine, or terfenadine taken.
Contact your doctor or health care provider immediately if any of these apply to you. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding
- If you have any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal or dietary supplement you are taking
- If you have medicine, food, or are allergic to other substances
- If you or a family member with bipolar (manic depression) disorder, other mental or mood problems, suicidal thoughts or attempts, or a history of alcohol or drug abuse
- If you visit, history of liver disease, severe kidney problems, stomach or intestinal bleeding, or metabolism problems
- If you have dehydration, low blood sodium levels, or alcohol
- If you have electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is
